June 21 Worship Services

Manitoba is implementing Phase 3 of easing restrictions due to COVID-19 effective Sunday June 21, 2020

Here is an excerpt taken from Manitoba’s official publication as it applies to public church gatherings:

Change: Adjustments to people permitted indoors in distinct groups.
Public gatherings of 50 people will be allowed indoors and 100 people outdoors, where members
of the public are reasonably able to maintain a separation of at least two metres from others, except
for brief exchanges. This change also applies to social gatherings, worship, weddings and funerals,
as well as pow wows and other Indigenous cultural and spiritual events. These gatherings must
follow public health guidelines for the venue where they are being held.
Larger group sizes are allowed where distinct groups of 50 or 100 can be separated to prevent
contact with other groups.
• Indoor gatherings are permitted with a maximum group size of 30 per cent of the site’s
capacity provided the group can be physically divided into sub-groups of 50 or fewer.
Each sub-group must be able to arrive, depart and participate in the gathering without
co-mingling with members from any other sub-group. Adequate physical distancing
must continue to be provided for all participants.

Most, if not all of the Sommerfeld Mennonite Churches in Manitoba will be open for worship service on Sunday June 21. Certain limitations may be in effect. Service format and times may vary by location. Please check with your local church if you have questions.

MORDEN: Worship service at 10:00 am. No Sunday School for this morning, because we will be using the dining hall for seating congregants in order to comply with the above stated guidelines. Please do bring your children – families living in the same household do not need to be physically distanced (can sit together).

MacGregor: The following announcement applies to the MacGregor Church Congregation.

We are planning to start having church services on Sunday June 21st. We will have 2 services. 9am and 10.30 am. We would ask that those whose last name begins with the letter A – P to come for the service that will begin @ 9am. Then everyone whose last name begins with the letter R – Z should plan to attend the service which will begin @10.30am. We would encourage you to tell others that may not be on a contact list. We are working on details how to make this work. We ask you to please follow the guidelines that the parking attendants and ushers will instruct you with. We hope to see you on Sunday. Please pray that it will work out, so we can keep having services.
Your ministerial.
